Dr. Lopez is a bilingual bicultural Clinical Psychologist specializing in working with children, youth, young adults (ages 18-25), and their families with their emotional and familial challenges. Dr. Lopez has over 30 years of experience providing individual and family therapy as well as psychological testing. Dr. Lopez has specialized experience in working with children, teens, and young adults with Depression, Anxiety, Parent-Child Conflict, Divorce, Bereavement, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
About Dr. Jose A. Lopez
I earned my B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. at UCLA. After completing my Ph.D in Clinical Psychology at UCLA (one of the most highly rated Clinical Psychology programs in the nation), I completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harbor UCLA Medical Center focusing on Child and Adolescent clinical populations. Since becoming licensed in 1995, I have been working with children, adolescents, and their families in both private practice and within an HMO setting. I have been a senior manager of a large Child Psychiatry Department for more than 9 years and have familiarity with the treatment of a general clinical population as well as more specialized clinical populations like ADHD, ASD, Depression, and Divorce. I enjoy working with children and teenagers and their families, and I work using brief solution-focused clinical approaches.
